BEDB signs agreement with G4 Security Services
BRUNEI Economic Development Board (BEDB) signed a commercialisation agreement with G4S Security Services Brunei in a signing ceremony yesterday, where G4S will play an important role in testing and adopting high technology powered products of three technology companies currently incubated at the iCentre The event also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between G4S and the three iCentre incubatees, namely John Harith Computer, PMK Support Services — 24/7 Assist and Rafiqun WSDI. BEDB said the signing is another step forward in the commercialisation of iCentre technology companies.
The signing was part of a BEDB ongoing
initiative to help develop and provide local
SMEs with sophisticated business opportunities.
G4S will play an important role in facilitating
the companies to turn their ideas into
commercially viable-products through the
provision of support services such as
networking, technical infrastructure and where
possible, test-bedding and eventually seeing to
the adoption of these new products into local
and international markets. In his welcoming
remarks, Mr. Vincent Cheong, CEO of BEDB, showed
appreciation to G4S for providing support to
iCentre incubatees, stating that the support
will help guide, mould and produce a high
standard of skills and knowledge that will
benefit young entrepreneurs. Mr. Ambrose Nathan,
General Manager of G4S in his welcoming remarks
affirmed the vested interest G4S has in
partnering with local businesses to both develop
and provide integrated security and business
solutions and to assist in the development of
sophisticated technologies born from the ideas
of local entrepreneurs.
The collaboration between G4S and Rafiqun WSDI will see further enhancement of Rafiqun’s innovative ‘Brumes’ product which work as an Internet Protocol (IP) Camera but developed through wireless technology. With John Harith Computers, G4S will help support and promote radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to clients that requires security ID and access control systems. Signing of behalf of BEDB was its CEO, Mr. Vincent Cheong, witnessed by Nurul Ain Jaafar, Accounts Manager for SME Development. Signing of behalf of G4S was its General Manager Mr. Ambrose Nathan and witnessed by Major (rtd) Wan Mohd Tambrin Shah. As a collaborative partner with G4S on `V-Trak’, on behalf of Mimit e-technologies, Hj Rushdi El-hakim Dato Seri Setia Hj Ibrahim witnessed the signing of agreements between G4S and 24-7 Assist. Kenneth Han signed for 24-7 Assist, John Lim signed for John Harith Computer, Haswandi Haji Sahari signed for Rafiqun WSDI and witnessing all incubatees was Hui Kwok Leong. The signing ceremony took place at the iCentre in the presence of Awang Abdul Mutalib bin POKSS Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the prime Minister’s Office and a gathering of government officers and private sector representatives from the ICT industry.
